Vol. 92 (2026): Ethnography as Experiment
Despite the criticism it has faced, ethnography has once again become a site of intensified methodological experimentation in recent years. This is reflected, for example, in creative ethnographic approaches to complex and contested arenas of public life and politics, as well as in new forms of research collaboration with activists and artists. Such experimentation focuses particularly on approaches that succeed in moving beyond the pitfalls of othering and extractive knowledge production. This volume brings together contributions from a conference organised by the Gesellschaft für Ethnographie e. V. (GfE) that present and discuss such experiments.
